Oriental Bay: Like it? Link It!

We invite all fans of Oriental Bay to ”link” to this website and join or “like” the Oriental Bay Facebook page. The website was formally launched at the AGM of the Oriental Bay Residents’ Association on 1 June 2011, following a six-month set-up period that involved digitalising The Bay View newsletters. Feedback on the site is welcome.

Carter Fountain out of action

The Carter Fountain is out of action for repairs. Peter Hemsley of the Wellington City Council says that during inspections one of the electrical phases to the motor was found to be not working so the motor/pump was removed on Friday 6 May. The problem is not yet known, but Peter says the fountain is likely to be “out of operation for a considerable period of time.”

Mayor to address AGM

The Oriental Bay Residents Association is pleased to announce that Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown will address our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on Wednesday 1 June 2011.  The AGM will be held in the Band Rotunda community rooms located below the Fisherman’s Table Restaurant at 245 Oriental Parade.  We’ll start with refreshments at 7.30pm, then at 8.00pm will receive the annual report and audited financial statement from president Colin Blair. Mayor Wade-Brown will then make her address.

The Oriental Bay Residents’ Association has been informed that the Wellington City Council and the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club are seeking feedback on the design brief for Clyde Quay Boat Harbour.
